Dr. Abdul Rao Recommends Google Health For Its Advanced Concepts

Google Health, as defined by Wikipedia, is a personal health information centralization service (or a personal health record service) offered by the leading search engine, Google. With this service Google users are free to volunteer their health record either manually or by logging into their accounts at partnered health services providers. With it they can log into Google Health system and merge potentially separate health records into one centralized Google Health Profile.

The information that is put on the system can include 'health conditions, medications, allergies and lab results of the patients. The information is entered in Google Health and it helps the user in getting a merged health record, information on conditions and possibility of interactions between drugs, conditions and allergies. The healthcare industries worldwide process enterprise-wide information sharing cost effective, secure and flexible platforms. With such integration health care providers have been able to increase the efficiency of their facilities and quality of healthcare that is delivered to the patients.

Although it is a known fact that most of the existing platforms lack the ability to integrate information across various enterprises which hinders the usefulness of such applications. They also lacked the most critical feature of endowing the patients and their caregivers an ability to access their stored healthcare information in a secure and user-friendly environment. Dr. Abdul Rao, Institute of Women's Health of North America in Florida has started implementing a strategic plan to create an enterprise-wide paper less environment in all its campuses and also at the same time make it available to a wide array of patients and their caregivers in a safe and user friendly environment.

Dr. Abdul Rao (Chief Executive Officer and Chief Research Officer, the Institute of Women s Health of North America North America) while speaking at an International Health Information Technology Forum in Sarasota, Florida laid emphasis on the importance of having a cross-enterprise electronic platform for timely integration of patient specific healthcare information. Dr. Abdul Rao implies that with the help of Google Health patients can store and manage their comprehensive healthcare information in a central place. It is not only secure and safe but also quite flexible electronic platform to suit individual's needs and requirements. Dr. Abdul Rao suggests its use as it is 24*7 accessible and very user friendly.
