Dr. Abdul Rao Has Been The Vice Provost For Research And Sponsored Programs At The Middle Tennessee State University

Dr. Abdul Rao is an intellectual who has served as the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at USF Health. Besides, he has also served as the Vice Dean for research and graduate studies for the college of medicine. Dr. Abdul Rao had been the Vice Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs at The Middle Tennessee State University where he was working as the professor of Biology. Apart from these, he has also served the institute by being actively involved in the Research Council for the Tennessee Board of Regents, also known as the sixth largest higher education system in the United States. It has a total strength of over 180,000 students who are enrolled in 45 universities, community colleges and technology centers.

Dr. Abdul Rao is famous for his outstanding qualities and caliber. He completed his medical degree from Dow Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan in 1983. He joined the Department of Physiology, Boston University School of Medicine, after completing his residency training in orthopedic surgery and hen in 1989, graduated with Masters in Physiology. From 1990-1993, he worked as a clinical instructor in the Nuffield Department of Surgery, University of Oxford, Oxford UK. Dr. Abdul Rao graduated from the University of Oxford with a D.Phil. (Doctor of Philosophy) in Transplantation Immunology in 1993.

Dr. Abdul Rao has been referred to as the next frontier on bringing complex scientific findings to bear on improving health by Stephen Klasko, M.D., M.Phil, Vice President of USF Health and Dean of the college of Medicine. According to Dr. Klasko, Dr. Abdul Rao was the perfect choice for that leadership role as he had all the qualities required and the creativity and entrepreneurship to make it happen.
